A blog for a life long journey of Witchcraft in the eyes of a 20 year old Pagan

Being a witch isn't about turning men into toads and stirring green gooey mixtures in large cauldrons. It's not about flying on broomsticks and draining the life out of children. In reality it's just another way of saying "tree huggin' hippie!". Witches are one with the Earth, some of us even refer to Her as Gaia, the name given to the Earth by those of the Greek religion. As men and women of the land, we have a strong bond with the elements, earth, water, air, and fire. We allow their energies into our lives on a daily basis. Each individual witch has their own connection with their god and/or goddess, some have more than one, more than two, more than three of each, and some don't have any at all! I guess you can say that our practice gives us a little bit more freedom than most faiths. Paganism is a way of life; it's a culture, it's a faith, a religion, a path, a lifestyle, etc. It's the ability to emotionally connect with your surroundings and to draw energy from the ground or from the air around you. You'll find that a majority of Pagans/Wiccans/Witches are peaceful folks! They enjoy the outdoors, they enjoy their animals, their families, the act of giving, they enjoy blessings and music, and many other simple routine tasks. We are not much different from you, your mother, your cousin, or your friends. We are a happy group of people who know how to altar our surroundings to benefit us and the people we care about.

I guarantee that if you do some research on your own about what Paganism really is, and the different paths involved that you'll find we play a very positive role in this world and that we are not to be feared or shunned away. I hope all of you who stop by my blog take the time to look around and educate yourselves. I'll leave you at that because I could go on for days about the beliefs and traditions of being a Pagan, but I'd rather you see for yourself.

Blessings to you and yours,
